AN ALERT reader drew our attention to the tweet below recently. So this blog will be short and quick. Rebutting anything Scotland’s favourite wee lassie and “Twitter personality” has to say, after all, is like shooting big fish in a teeny wee barrel with a huge shotgun: so easy it’s embarrassing. AhDinnaeKen explains:
By Longshanker aka @ergasiophobe
IT’S FAIR to deduce from the above Tweet that oor wee Natalie has been receiving AhDinnaeKen related links or mentions or retweets from other Tweeters.
We*’ll allow Natalie her wee insult that AhDinnaeKen is a “disgusting” blog.
Nationalists cannae take being held to account by anyone, nevermind the politically disenfranchised, so its obviously “disgusting” – in Natalie’s wee Nationalist-o-centric world at least.
What we will call Natalie out on, however, is the evidenceless “misogynist” smear. In terms of that debate, it seems she’s more ready to be a politician than the population of Cowdenbeath gave her credit for. Or not – as the case turns out to be:
Use of the condescending phrase “calm down dear” got David Cameron into hot water some time ago and Natalie appears to have jumped on to that bandwagon.
The nice little chap above is Natalie’s bidey-in ‘partner’ and Conservative cooncillor, David Meikle.
Surprisingly, and we’re sure it’s entirely coincidental, that Tweet appears to have been deleted. It’s disappeared; ceased to exist; no longer to be seen, anywhere on the Twittersphere. There’s a pattern for that kind of phenomenon regarding Tweets surrounding Ms McGarry which highlight inconvenient truths.
Unsurprisingly, no “misogynist” label for Cooncillor Meikle.
Oor message to wee Natalie is this: If you’re going to smear with a sticky ‘one size fits all’ label, at least provide some evidence and be consistent.
Otherwise, you’re left open to the same type of label yourself. And you end up looking like a condescending misandrist.
Weel din Nippy Sark – yer tea’s oot!
